Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari also criticized Niazi’s comments, saying his remarks reflected her brother’s mindset and alleging that the family was incapable of appreciating Pakistan’s achievements.

Bukhari said the international community had recognized Pakistan’s military success in Operation Maarka-e-Haq, adding that coming out in favor of Indian Prime Minister Modi was “shameful and condemnable”.

She said the Pakistan Army and Air Force personnel achieved historic successes during the operation and the nation remained proud of their performance.

Social media users also condemned the remarks. One user, Waqar Satti, described the comments as an attack on national interests rather than the political opposition, alleging that they reinforced hostile propaganda.

Another user, Farhan Warraich, said that even Indian TV anchors had not used such remarks against Pakistan, while another social media user called on PTI leaders to publicly distance themselves from Niazi’s remarks.

Some commentators have argued that these unsubstantiated claims could reinforce narratives used by Indian media against Pakistan.
