Trump says ‘I trust’ Putin and Xi – contradicting Hegseth on war allies with Iran

President Donald Trump said Friday that he does not believe the Russian or Chinese governments are providing military or intelligence assistance to Iran — based solely on their leaders’ denials — contradicting his own Defense Secretary’s assessment during a Senate hearing days ago.

Answering questions in the Oval Office during an appearance focused on nuclear energy, Trump was asked to defend a Truth Social post in which he claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping had said “under no circumstances would he give or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran” and that Russia’s Vladimir Putin had promised “that he would not sell weapons to Iran.”

He also wrote that in his opinion the two countries were “not participating” in the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States, while warning that “it would be very bad for them” if they did.

Fired military officials claim they were ousted by Pete Hegseth for questioning orders

Two former US military officers have accused the country’s Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth of firing them for questioning his orders, according to a report.

The officers, who spoke to MS NOW anonymously for fear of retaliation from the Pentagon, said Hegseth effectively forced them into early retirement after interpreting their concerns about his directives as insubordination.

The secretary “is intimidated by people who have real combat experience and who don’t just talk about the warrior ethos,” one of the officers said. “I think he just can’t stand people who call him out on his bulls***.”
