Women's tennis posts a strong opening day at Harvard's fall invitational
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. On the first day of the final home fall tournament, Harvard women's tennis posted five wins in six matches in doubles and singles.
Crimson picks up wins in both doubles matches this afternoon, starting with a 6-2 win Kavya Karra And Angel you about Saige Severance and Alex Torre (Boston College). Natalie Block And Maxi Duncan achieved almost identical results, trailing Olivia Benton and Tola Glowacka (Boston College) 6-3.
Moving to singles, Block and You both picked up their second wins of the day with victories over their crosstown foes. Block recorded a strong, 6-3, 6-0, straight set win over Nada Dimovska (Boston College), while You came back to beat Torre (Boston College) with a 10-3 tiebreak result.
Charlotte Owensby picked up the final win of the day, dropping the ITA New England Regionals singles champion. After falling 6-1 in the opening set to Benton (Boston College), Owensby battled through a 7-5 second set before outscoring the foe 10-0 in tiebreakers.
