CFTC and National Hockey League sign MOU regarding integrity in professional hockey
WASHINGTON – The Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the National Hockey League today announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding designed to protect the integrity of professional hockey and maintain fair and transparent prediction markets.
Specifically, under the terms of the MOU, the CFTC and NHL have reinforced the intent to share and coordinate information to protect the integrity of both professional hockey and related event contracts offered on CFTC-regulated exchanges. The CFTC and the NHL have each designated representatives who will communicate regularly to discuss issues related to integrity, share information confidentially and ensure open lines of communication.
The NHL has also implemented layered safeguards to monitor these markets and is working directly with its partners to ensure integrity.
