Legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is celebrating after steering his Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the 2026 IPL title, beating Gujarat Titans in the final.

India veteran Virat Kohli produced an explosive knock as Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a five-wicket win over Gujarat Titans to retain their Indian Premier League title.
Bengaluru, who ended a 17-season drought by winning their maiden IPL title last year, continued that momentum this season, chasing down 156 in 18 overs with ease.
Gujarat were put into bat and never found a foothold against Bengaluru’s sharp bowling. He lost his in-form openers in the powerplay and managed just 155-8 in a packed Narendra Modi Stadium, awash in red in support of the defending champions.
New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy was part of the powerful bowling line-up but could not take a wicket as he finished with 0-38 from his four overs.

Bengaluru made the chase easy and cruised ahead without any real alarm as Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer (32 off 16) set the tone early and helped the team post 70-2 in the powerplay.
Kohli, dubbed the ‘chase master’, charged into the attack with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, including three sixes and nine fours, and also brought up his fastest IPL fifty, taking his tally to 68 half-centuries and nine hundreds.
Gujarat lost their top scorers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan early to slump to 45-2 in the powerplay, and although Washington Sundar hit an unbeaten 50 off 37 deliveries, support was lacking as the innings never gained momentum.
Bengaluru’s bowling was disciplined and stingy, with no one conceding more than 10 per over as Rasikh Dar claimed three wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took two each.
