Runa Muderrisoglu becomes the first CSC Academic All-American in the history of LR Women’s Tennis
HICKORY, NC – Runa Muderrisoglu of the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s tennis team made history Tuesday, becoming the first player in program history to be named an Academic All-American. Muderrisoglu was a tribute to the second team.
Muderrisoglu was an All-SAC First Team honoree in singles, going 12-7 at the No. 1 spot and 8-3 in conference play. She and her doubles partner Meet Boosie were named to the doubles All-SAC Second Team, going 20-5 at the #2 position and 8-2 in conference play. Thanks in part to her success, the Lenoir-Rhyne women’s tennis team earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
Muderrisoglu, a Computer Science major, has maintained a cumulative GPA of 4.00 during her three years in college. She was on the LR President’s List every semester she was eligible and earned the LR Computer Programming and Engineering Physics Achievement Awards in 2025. She is a tennis team captain, vice president of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society, has volunteered for student research on female athletes, and is the lead tennis representative in community and donor relations activities.
