PNG DataCo Limited (DataCo) would like to inform all our valued customers and the general public that DataCo is experiencing multiple outages in service after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake this morning (Sunday 11 September 2022) at 9:46 am. It affected the operations of the Kumol Submarine Cable Network (KSCN) Express Link between Port Moresby and Madang and the PPC-1 cable between Madang and Sydney. Customers in the Momassi, Highlands and New Guinean areas connected via Madang will be affected.

Our engineers work with our partners to investigate and determine the extent of any potential damage to our digital infrastructure and work on short-term relief measures.

DataCo sincerely apologizes for the outage and deterioration of service and will provide further advice after initial investigations.
