MNPDC on Limited Working Capacity Due to Recent Earthquake – Solomon Star News

The Ministry of National Planning and Development Coordination (MNPDC) is currently operating on a limited working capacity due to the recent earthquake of magnitude 7.3.

The Ministry hereby informs the relevant Solomon Islands Government (SIG) ministries, provincial governments, donors and development partners, NGOs, other important stakeholders and the general public that the recent earthquake of magnitude 7.3 has affected the physical office space of the Ministry including the stations Work and office equipment located on the third floor of the blue IRD building on the Townground in Honiara.

“All staff have been advised to work from home for the time being, while damage assessment is being carried out by the relevant SIG agencies. At the moment, the department is working on a staffing structure due to limited office space,” a statement from the department said today.

The department’s executive management is working to ensure a temporary workspace is available soon to ensure continued service delivery and engagement with sister SIG ministries, partners and other stakeholders.

Currently, there is a temporary landline (677) 30154 to contact the Ministry directly because email correspondence will be delayed in being answered by Ministry employees.

“The MNPDC hereby requests the understanding of all our significant stakeholders on the current situation and confirms that appropriate steps are being taken to remedy the situation,” it says.
