The largest anti-government protests since last week’s election have been in Belarus. It is estimated that 100,000 people have taken to the streets to allow President Alexander Lukashenko to take steps. President Lukashenko, who has been under threat for 26 years, has claimed that the country is under threat from foreign forces and has refused. His opponents accuse him of running for president and unleashed macho violence against protesters and political opponents.
