Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia sign Nagorno-Karabakh peace agreement – BBC News

Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia have signed an agreement to end the military conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s agreement “was terribly painful for both me and our people.” For six weeks the fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenian ethnic groups continues. The region is internationally recognized as Azerbaijani, but has been ruled by ethnic Armenians since 1994. A Russian-led truce was signed in the late 1990s, but there was no peace agreement. Although the two sides took steps to reduce tensions last year, fighting began in late September and several attempts to end the conflict failed. The new ceasefire deal has sparked outrage in Armenia as protesters stormed parliament, beating a spokesman and looting the prime minister’s office. #BBCOS #BBCOutsideSource Please subscribe HERE .
