The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.1-magnitude earthquake in the United States near Richfield in Sever County, Utah just 9 minutes ago. The earthquake struck early in the afternoon of Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2:56 PM local time at a very shallow depth of 0.4 miles. The exact size, focus and depth of an earthquake may be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and improve their calculations, or when other agencies release their report. The center (EMSC), which listed it as a 3.1-magnitude earthquake also, based on preliminary seismic data, the earthquake should not have caused any significant damage, but many people probably felt it as a slight shaking in the epicenter area. A weak tremor was probably felt in Annabella (population 800) located 2 miles from the epicenter, Richfield (7600) 3 miles away, and Elsinor (population 860) 4 miles away.
