Bristol’s A & E doctor, who worked at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic, died of cancer after being diagnosed more than a year ago.

When the coronavirus pandemic began, Jeci worked at the forefront of the NHS, taking turns as an A & E doctor for 10 hours.
She talked about how she felt when she was first diagnosed with skin cancer.
“The ground felt like it was off me, everything was very stationary. It was very surreal like a nightmare,” Jessie said.
“After the call was over, I howled. I had never made such a noise. My body trembled. I adjusted my pace. I swore. I cried.”
She also said it was “not over” and wanted to live beyond the last Christmas doctors predicted.
“I don’t want to die-I’m not ready for that,” she said at the time.
“I feel hope. I don’t see myself as a victim. It’s not over yet. I don’t feel like dying this year and that was my last Christmas.”
“None of us know what will happen. I could be knocked down by a car tomorrow.”
