where can i get the flu vaccine

This year, there are three ways employees can get their flu vaccine. See below for details on each option.

Department Influenza Liaison It can be used to administer flu vaccines to department/unit employees and support services that frequent the unit. This method of distribution is strongly recommended for departments with flu contact points.

Employees who receive their vaccine from their departmental flu representative do not need to submit certification to Occupational Health Services (OHS) through Health Rx.

OHS Influenza Clinic Held at various locations within the hospital and other off-site locations. In addition to standard influenza vaccine; high-dose influenza vaccine (for ages 65 and older). FluBlok Flu Vaccine (eggless); FluMist (49 and under) available from OHS.

An employee who receives a vaccine from an OHS clinic does not need to submit certification to her OHS through Health Rx. Med Inn’s OHS clinic is not available for walk-in flu his vaccination appointments.

Other placesOther primary care provider offices (including Michigan Medicine), pharmacies, and other vaccination clinics are permitted.

Uploading external documents

Employees who received flu vaccines from other locations must follow this year’s new process to directly upload an external flu certificate. OHS Health Rx Compliance Portal for review and approval.Upload instructions are available here.

Documentation from the vaccine provider should include the employee’s name, flu vaccine and date of administration. This is a new method for timely submission of vaccination documentation. Thank you for your participation.

Employees who are unable to upload flu documentation to Health Rx have the option to email evidence to OHS via email. [email protected]. Sending by email is not a recommended method. Use only if you cannot upload directly to Health Rx. The documentation should include the employee’s name, employee’s UMID number, flu vaccine and date of administration..

Application for exemption

employee requesting new medical or religious exemption Influenza vaccines must be submitted by November 1, 2022 for the Commission to review and provide results before the December 1, 2022 deadline. Waiver applications for influenza and COVID-19 vaccines are separate. In addition, the criteria for medical exemptions differ for influenza and COVID-19 vaccines. Employees who have been approved for an exemption but who choose to get the flu vaccine this year can do so by one of the three methods described above.

• previous medical exemptions: Employees with previously approved medical exemptions do not need to resubmit. The medical expense deduction will be carried over from last year.

• previous religious exemptions: Employees who received an approved religious exemption for the flu vaccine in 2021 do not need to resubmit exemption applications in 2022. Religious exemption he is valid for two years.

The Infection Prevention and Epidemiology Team will inform you about the official start of the influenza season.Employees who have not been vaccinated but have an approved exemption or declination (For UMPNC employees) Masks must be worn in patient care areas during flu season, including when the COVID-19 pandemic has made masks unnecessary.
