Pennsylvania Coronavirus: 634 Cases, 3 New Deaths

(WKBN)-The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported a total of 89,375 cases of COVID-19 and 6,749 virus-related deaths.
It has since increased 634 cases and three new deaths Friday..
Seven new cases were reported in Mercer County, with a total of 150 cases and 6 deaths. There were also three new cases reported in Lawrence County, for a total of 114 cases and nine deaths. No new deaths were reported in these counties on Saturday.

Allegheny county cases increased by 150 overnight. On Thursday, Allegheny Health Director Dr. Debra Bogen announced that additional measures have been taken to further stop the spread of coronavirus infections.
A new order requires a weekly closure of bars, restaurants and casinos and cancellation of all activities or events for more than 25 people during the same weekly period. Food stores may offer takeaways and deliveries during that period.
In addition to the order, Dr. Bogen also recommended a voluntary home protocol for county residents.
There are 634 patients with positive serologic tests and either COVID-19 symptoms or high risk exposure. These patients are presumed cases, not confirmed cases. There are 725,448 patients who have been negative so far. Of the patients diagnosed positive so far, the breakdown of age is as follows:
- Nearly 1% are 0 to 4 years old.
- 1% are 5-12 years old.
- 2% are 13-18 years old.
- 7% are 19-24 years old.
- Nearly 37% are 25-49 years old.
- 24% are between 50 and 64 years old. And
- 27% are over 65 years old.
Most inpatients are over the age of 65, and most deaths occur in patients over the age of 65. More data is available here.
In nursing homes and personal care homes, COVID-19 has 17,908 residents and 3,339 employees, for a total of 21,247 at 709 facilities in 52 counties. Of the total deaths, 4,592 occurred in residents of nursing homes or personal care facilities. You can find a breakdown of the counties here..
About 6,780 of all cases are healthcare workers.
