After losing eight weeks of cramps to work on the front line, nurses lose legs
The nurse needed to amputate her leg after ignoring two months of persistent pain in order to continue working at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic.
26-year-old Sette Buenaventura worked for 12 hours at Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester and thought the pain she felt was a result of her standing all day long while treating her patient. ..
The 26-year-old patient shrugged with cramp-like pain when he asked for treatment, so he checked out when he had difficulty walking.

After performing an MRI scan, the doctor said the set had a sarcoma in the right leg. After only two weeks, the tumor had grown to the size of a golf ball, and the only way she survived was said to be amputation of the leg.
Sette said she “never expected” that this would happen to her, especially because she works in healthcare. [her] It is best to stay healthy and take care of yourself.
“I was very upset when they told me I had to remove one of my legs,” said a nurse from Eccles. “But I didn’t have time to think about it, so I knew I had no choice and just set about it.”
When COVID-19 kicked off, we were working hard and had no time to worry about pain or pain. We were there every hour to help those who needed us [and] It really tasted the level of commitment.

The full-time nurse is currently wearing a prosthesis and will return to work in November. Setté, now cancer free, wanted to learn from her experience.
