Late-onset menopause linked to reduced risk of heart disease
Women who have experienced menopause later in their lives have healthier blood vessels for years than those who have experienced it before, according to a study by researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder. Previous studies suggest that women who have experienced menopause after the age of 55 (women defined as one year without a period) may develop heart disease more than women who stop menstruating at the normal age of 45-54.
