Is it safe to restart the school during the pandemic?
It depends on how prevalent the COVID-19 infection is in the community and on the safety measures implemented by the school. In areas where the virus is poorly controlled, public health experts say face-to-face education is too risky.
In areas where the virus appears to be under control, experts say adjustments need to be made to minimize the risk of school reopening. Some experts say a persistent reduction in cases and a positive case rate of less than 2% are one of the signs that the virus is under control.

However, in Israel, a school that resumed when virus activity was low was closed a few weeks later when the incident surged in a community of students and teachers.
In the United States, some school districts plan to combine face-to-face and online learning to maintain social distance. Other districts such as Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles offer classes online only.
