State-wide COVID-19-related hospitalizations were 1,142 on Monday, an increase of 13 from Sunday.
Hospitalization reached a nine-week high of 1,152 on October 13, and has exceeded 1,000 daily since October 6.
As of noon on Monday, the total number of cases increased by 40.5% from 175,815 to 247,172 since Phase 2.5 of the reopening began on September 4 in North Carolina. The death toll increased by 36.3% from 2,889 to 3,939.
