Los Angeles County imposes new COVID-19 restrictions on social gatherings
Los Angeles (Reuters)-Almost all individuals from multiple households in Los Angeles County for at least three weeks starting Monday, under new restrictions announced on Friday by local health officials due to the continued surge in COVID-19. Infectious diseases for which social gatherings are prohibited.
The Public Health Order clearly supports the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday, which overthrew the New York State order that restricted the size of religious rallies, and with religious services under constitutional rights. Protests are specifically exempt.

Taken together, these represent the strictest COVID-19 measures imposed on the Los Angeles region since the first state-wide blockade in California in early March of the pandemic. They are also one of the most restrictive effects nationwide.
States and municipalities have set or re-imposed broad restrictions on social and economic activity in hopes of slowing the wave of coronavirus infections that are rampant across the country following the fall in late summer. ..
Political leaders and health officials have also escalated public appeals to pandemic-tired Americans to stay home, avoid rallies, and reduce Christmas shopping while waiting for the promised vaccine.
In announcing the latest temporary constraints, LA County health officials previously added more than 4,500 newly recorded infections per day for five consecutive days as an additional step to control the infection. Said that the threshold set in was exceeded.
Under the new LA County orders, which will run until 20 December, residents are advised to stay at home as much as possible and always wear a face cover outside the house and around others. However, it is not mandatory.
However, social gatherings of people from multiple households, whether public or private, indoors or outdoors, are prohibited. The latest orders are downgraded, but allow some commercial activity.

To date, nearly 388,000 COVID-19 cases have been identified across Los Angeles County, more than 7,600 have died, and 10% of all diagnostic tests have returned positive. This is twice the rate that health officials are concerned about.
