The Metropolitan Police Department has begun investigating police officers who have discovered the coronavirus curb by having breakfast in a cafe in London.

Passersby caught several squad cars outside the chef’s house kitchen while the serviceman was sitting inside at 9am, despite the ban on rallies and table service.

Brian Jennings, 44, regularly walked past a cafe near Greenwich Patrol Base in southeast London, exercising and saw him sitting in a meal.

Blackheath’s IT manager said he was outraged at the site after reading a member of the general public who was fined for going for a walk over coffee.

Brian Jennings, 44, regularly walked past a cafe near Greenwich Patrol Base in southeast London, exercising and saw him sitting in a meal.

He said:’There is a large police station along the Thames near me. It’s a quiet and exercising place, so I pass by several times a week.

“There is a cafe in the industrial park next door. We noticed in the first blockade, but again today, regularly, there are six police cars outside first thing in the morning, with police officers at every table. I noticed that I was having breakfast.

“It’s not a one-time thing that lasts for months. You read about people being fined in treatises, and it seems hypocritical as it is there. [looks like there is little] Social distance at the cafe.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the allegations and said it was “trying to find more information.”
