British Airways pilot finally returns home after fighting Covid for eight months in a U.S. hospital

It is reported that a British Airways pilot who fought against the coronavirus for eight months in a US hospital has finally returned home.

ABC News reports that despite the long and difficult fight against illness, international pilot Nicholas Sinot served as a soldier with his wife on the bedside every day.

The London-based pilot took one of his regular trips to Houston, USA in March.

After catching the virus, he was reportedly admitted to UT Health and Memorial Hermann Hospital and had to be ventilated.

Talking to local radio station KTRK, a doctor who worked on Mr. Sinot for months said he had respiratory failure and was placed on a ventilator and then on a heart and lung machine.

UT Health Dr Biswajit Kar said: “All organs in his body were affected by COVID-19.

“But his health was as good as the pilot before he got sick, so he was able to maintain all of this and survive something so serious.

“At first we were overwhelmed by the joy that this sick person could accomplish it.

There was always the question, “Is he there?” Given the huge number of drugs, other multi-organ problems that were occurring.

“I think everyone on our team agreed that it was his wife.”

His wife Nicky was reportedly at bedside every day for almost eight months.

Regarding the trials, my Sinot said, “Thinking about supporting my wife and returning to my children. It was a tough trip, but we are where we are.”

He also wants to return to Houston, adding that he wants to go to the Houston Zoo, which he reportedly saw every day outside the hospital window.

He added, “I want to come back and visit all my friends. I want to thank them directly for everything they have done for me.”
