The new little Honda Super-N has arrived in the UK and starts from just £18,995.

The major changes to the Super-N start with a wider chassis and larger wheels and tires. These elements not only aid handling but also give the model an aggressive design.

The nose is inspired by the Honda e, but the friendly face has been given a more aggressive look thanks to new LED headlights and front air intakes. The charging point is in the nose rather than the bonnet.

Although there are more style-oriented decorations at the rear, the car’s practical character is not forgotten, thanks to the very low bootlid for easy loading. The square rear lamps and basic shape are faithful to the Japanese market model.

Honda said Super-N customers will be able to choose from “a variety of exterior colors and customization options created to create each individual touch.” These options include a two-tone paint job and “unique” body graphics.

How are the rooms?

The interior has a simple and space-efficient design, making the Super-N’s origins clear. The upper dashboard is taken straight from the Japanese model, but this is good news because kei cars are very spacious.

The design is very concise and simple with two small displays. One handles the infotainment and the other is responsible for the main driver display. There is a small shelf running along the entire length and a larger bin to the right of the driver.

The gear select button is mounted on a small protrusion, and between the unique seats there is a small storage compartment with a single cup holder and storage tray. But no amount of clever packaging can disguise the fact that the Super-N’s cabin is extremely narrow.

The seats are exclusive to this new model and feature retro-inspired bolsters and materials. However, the second row is cramped and strictly for two.

Last month, Honda canceled its plans to produce a range of EVs under the ‘0 Series’ banner. The innovative wedge-shaped electric sedan and SUV were scrapped thanks to a “reassessment of the company’s vehicle electrification strategy due to a variety of factors.”
