Middlesex-No new cases of COVID-19 reported in London, but not yet won

For the first time in more than a month, no new cases of COVID-19 were seen on Saturday in the London area. However, the top doctors in the area say it is important to stay vigilant as the virus is still in the community.

The outbreak in the region started with one case in January, so there was no surge in case numbers until mid-March, when community outbreaks began to occur in the Middlesex-London region. However, it was until March 25 that the number of cases began to steadily increase every day.

As of Friday, the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported a total of 438 cases in the region during the pandemic and did not increase on Saturday.

“I’ve been waiting for a while,” said Dr. Chris McKee, a medical officer at MLHU. “We are certainly not outside the forest. There will be more cases and deaths, but it is a good sign that things are going in the right direction.”

Of the total number of infected people, 292 recovered.

In addition to no new cases, no new deaths were reported on Saturday. Dr. McKee did not think there would be a delay of about two weeks between the peaks of the cases.

“It ’s really exciting to see [both the case count and the death count] It was zero today. ”

In the entire region, 43 people died of the virus since the outbreak began, 23 of which were associated with elderly homes.

According to the Health Unit’s latest outbreak report, nine elderly facilities in the region continue to fight the outbreak.

Community efforts that must continue

Dr. McKee said the gradual reduction in cases recorded in the last few weeks in the area is a cumulative effort of all who have adhered to public health measures.

“It’s rewarding and valuable that we all have sacrificed our lifestyles and often our finances,” he said. “What we have done has really worked.”

And Saturday’s double-zero-case and death-is good news, but Dr. McKee said it didn’t mean it was time to relax.

“We know the virus is still in the community, which will bring more cases, so we need to stay vigilant.”

Maintaining physical distance and avoiding contact with people outside the house is the best ally to kill the virus in this community, according to Dr. McKee.

There are no new cases in most surrounding counties, and the number of states daily is declining

Huron Perth health officials said the number of cases in the county would remain unchanged on Saturday.

Since the outbreak began, 49 people in the area have been infected with the virus, 39 have recovered, and 5 have died after the infection.

Two more were recovered from the virus in Oxford and Elgin counties, according to the Southwest Public Health Service.

During the course of the outbreak, 62 cases were seen in this area, 47 of which were marked as resolved. Four fell down because of the disease.

Gray Bruce health officials reported one new case, totaling up to 90 in the region.

Of the total number of cases, 71 have been resolved.

In the meantime, the province had the lowest daily increase in cases with 346 new cases of virus confirmed this week.

The litigation brought Ontario to a total of 19,944, but now approximately 72% of the litigation has been resolved.
