Tori Amos’s LITTLE EARTHQUAKES Received Graphic Novel for its 30th Anniversary

February 1992 saw the release of Tori Amos’ debut single album, Little Earthquakes. Now, thirty years later, Z2 Comics has announced a graphic novel adaptation of the core album, with 24 stories based on a combination of the album’s 12 main tracks and 12 sides. Described as a “long-awaited spiritual sequel” to the previous Amos graphic novel, the 2008 comic book tattoo, contributors to Little Earthquakes: The Graphic Album include Neil Gaiman, Bilquis Evely, Margaret Atwood, Colleen Doran, Leah Moore and David Mac, who contributes to The main cover of the book. The book is scheduled to be released in September 2022.

Amos’s debut album, Little Earthquakes, was released in 1992, establishing her iconic thematic sound, as well as her lively intensity behind the keys with enduring lyrics and songs that would inspire generations of artists and musicians. Thirty years later, Z2 will publish a graphic novel that illustrates the lasting impact of this specific work through 24 stories inspired by the 12 songs on the album, as well as the 12 “B sides” that accompanied the album and associated singles. The book will be compiled by Z2 editor Rantz Hoseley, who previously edited the multi-award winning Comic Book Tattoo, and who painted the cover of her latest Christmastide EP.

As with all Z2 Comics editions, Little Earthquakes will be available in multiple editions. The Standard Edition is an 8″ x 8″ hardcover, while the Deluxe and Limited Platinum Editions will display the book as a 12″ x 12″ hardcover. The deluxe edition, limited to 1,450 copies, comes in a slip case and features the book, a vinyl reissue of the album, a never-before-seen vinyl release of B-scores on photo disc, plus prints by Mack, Jason Levesque and Kaku. The platinum edition, limited to 500 copies, includes a signed and numbered copy of the hardcover embossed hardcover, all deluxe edition extras, as well as a sketchbook/diary, supposedly in Amos material, all featured in the “mold-cut shell collector’s box that echoes the box.” The woodwind is synonymous with the cover of this album.” Z2 notes that the vinyl version of the B-sides will not receive a second print once sold.
