This World Kidney Day is based on the theme of “filling the knowledge gap for better kidney care.” About 8.5 billion rupees around the world suffer from some form of kidney disease. Based on rough estimates, about 1 billion people in India suffer from chronic kidney disease (irreversible kidney failure). Of the patients with kidney disease, about 3 Rakı patients progress to end-stage kidney disease each year in India.
