Stakeholders refused to cooperate with Rockland County contact tracers
A contact tracer in New City, NY — southeastern Rockland County, ensures that coronavirus infections do not represent a far greater spread event.

But the bigger problem is that investigators communicate with party participants, most of them in their late teens or early twenties.
“Some parents have refused to cooperate,” Day said. “Some young people refuse to cooperate.”
The virus can spread further by not telling County Health Service personnel who else was contacted. Lack of information will prevent contact tracers from reaching other people who may have encountered known COVID-19 spreaders and prevent them from being quarantined.
Some residents of the local community said they were upset that neighbors were putting them at risk by not cooperating with sick investigators in the health department.
“It’s not all of you,” said Tanya Powell, who lives in New City, mentioning a non-cooperative party participant. “We’re all together. Be selfish and selfish, don’t worry about others. It’s not good citizenship.”
Rockland County officials said contact tracking was very effective-they used it to contain the outbreak of measles last year. Well, like that, they had to compel people exposed to work with contact tracers to prevent widespread spread.
“We issued eight summons this morning,” Day said. “We continue to do that.”
And the bills are attached to these subpoenas.
“These subpoenas not only take you to court, but to the Health Court,” he continued, “they also carry a fine of $2,000 a day.”
