Mandana Karimi quits Bollywood after Sajid Khan joins Bigg Boss 16; ‘I don’t want to be in the industry where there is..’
The new season of Salman Khan’s reality show, Big Boss 16, premiered last week over the weekend. From Tina Dutta to Shalin Bhanot, several well-known celebrities have entered the house to try and coexist together for the coming weeks amid surviving banter and winning chores. Amid all the ruckus inside and outside the house, actress Mandana Karimi announced that she had quit Bollywood.
The Iranian actor, who has been seen in companies like Bhaag Johnny, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 and recently in Kangana Ranaut’s show Cover, revealed that she quit the Hindi film industry after filmmaker Sajid Khan was pocketed Big Boss 16. Mandana is said to be one of nine actresses who have come out to accuse Sajid Khan in the Me Too movement.

In an interview with Hindustan time, Mandana Karimi said she was not “surprised” to see Sajid Khan back on screen. ”For people, life has become like putting my head under the sand. If it benefits me and I can make money, then who cares? ”She also explained that the Me Too movement had hardly made a splash in India or other countries.
Mandana also scathingly denounced the industry’s lack of action following the Me Too movement, asking, “What is the action? Who is boycotting these people?” She continued, “Nothing is going to happen. Because we’re talking about the biggest industry, which is a place where somebody’s somebody’s mom, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, or somebody’s husband. It’s like you, you scratch my back, and I’ll scratch your back.

The 34-year-old announced that she will no longer be working in Bollywood and has not taken part in any auditions in recent months. “I don’t want to work in Bollywood. I don’t want to be involved in an industry where there is no respect for women,” said Mandana Karimi.
