WHO outlines new framework for early detection and management of breast cancer

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released new framework guidelines with the goal of saving 2.5 million lives from breast cancer by 2040 through a combination of early detection, timely diagnosis and comprehensive management. bottom.¹

• Improving Health for Early Detection (Pre-Diagnosis Interval): GBCI has set a goal of 60% or more of invasive cancer patients diagnosed with stage I or II.

• Comprehensive Breast Cancer Management: More than 80% of patients should receive multimodality therapy without abandonment.

“Countries with weak health systems have the lowest capacity to manage the growing burden of breast cancer.
