CU Boulder researchers develop saliva-based coronavirus test and get results in 45 minutes – CBS Denver

Boulder, Colorado (CBS4)– Researchers at the University of Colorado at Boulder have developed a method to quickly screen patients with potential coronaviruses. The saliva-based test gives results in just 45 minutes.

The mechanism is as follows. The patient spits into the tube and the sample changes color based on the test results. Pink to yellow means positive for COVID-19. If not, the test is negative.
