Mild winters accelerate tick development
CLEVELAND — Tick season is in full swing.
“We're past the peak. Usually it's a lot worse in the spring. Usually it starts in April. This time it came out in late March,” said Rebecca Jones, a park ranger with the National Park Service.
She said the ticks are tiny but can leave a red, bulls-eye-like ring when they bite into the skin.
