In his latest episode of the Podcast reserved for athletesHost Kyle Millis focuses on five men's swimmers to watch at the upcoming Paris Olympics. With less than a week to go until the Games begin in the French capital, Millis (a former Cal Bear swimmer) examines some of the most intriguing stories on the men's side.
Athletes featured in the episode include Great Britain's Adam Peaty, Americans Ryan Murphy and Caeleb Dressel, and French star Leon Marchand. Each of these athletes has an intriguing backstory, as is often the case at the Olympics, and Millis does a superb job of unpacking what should be a sensational nine days in Paris.
Marchand will of course be one of the big names in the competition. Not only is the French star coming off three gold medals at last year's World Championships in Fukuoka, he's expected to be the face of the Games. After all, he's competing on home soil and will tackle a program that includes four individual events: 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley, 200m butterfly and 200m breaststroke.
Murphy, meanwhile, is looking to reclaim the gold medals he won in the 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Peaty, meanwhile, is aiming for a hat-trick in the 100m breaststroke, with China's Qin Haiyang his main challenger.
