Boris Johnson explains how Ukraine can defeat Russia
Johnson proposed a plan for Ukraine's victory before the thousandth day of the war.
The key points of his plan are:
1. Date of Ukraine joining NATO
Johnson stressed that Ukraine is already a free, independent and democratic European state and therefore the West should take steps to provide security guarantees and set a specific date for Ukraine's accession to NATO.
2. Financial aid
He proposed providing Ukraine with a $500 billion loan, similar to the Lend-Lease program, to secure the financial resources necessary for victory in the war.
3. Missile Support
– Johnson welcomed US President Joe Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles to strike Russian military bases.
– He called on the UK and France to allow Ukraine to use the Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles.
According to Johnson, these measures would help convince Russian President Vladimir Putin that he has made a gigantic mistake and will never succeed in conquering Ukraine.
The former Prime Minister's proposals reflect his strong stance in support of Ukraine's struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
On July 21, Johnson unveiled a peace plan for Ukraine that could be used by Donald Trump if he is re-elected president of the United States.
The plan states that Russian soldiers must withdraw from the territories they occupy by February 24, 2024.
Johnson also proposes replacing some American troops in European countries with Ukrainians, which would help deter the Russian threat.
