Powys Coronavirus: 1 New Case Confirmed
A new case of coronavirus was confirmed in Powys.
The latest figures from Public Health Wales show that the number of confirmed cases in Powys has increased to 360. The actual numbers may be higher, though. This is because there are 27 new cases reported in Wales today.
Public Health Welsh data are for cases with confirmed coronavirus and include only those who died in hospitals in Wales.
Therefore, those who have died in hospitals in the UK, those who have died in nursing homes, and those who have not been tested to confirm the presence of the coronavirus are excluded.
The Powys Teaching Health Board suggests that the Office for National Statistics (ONS) data is the most accurate, as it indicates possible death of the coronavirus since the outbreak began.
According to figures released by ONS, Powis caused a total of 93 deaths from the virus, 9 at home, 37 at hospitals and 47 at nursing homes.
Public Health Wales supports four households to join together
Dr. Christopher Williams, Inc., Director of Incident Response to the New Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak in Public Health Wales, said: They can join together to form a single extended household, and weddings, civic partnerships, or post-funeral meals are allowed indoors for up to 30 people to maintain social distance.
“We also welcome the amendment to the regulations that require hospitality businesses and other environments to collect customer contact details from next week. This information tests the public and the spread of coronaviruses. Essential for Welsh testing, tracing and protection strategies to prevent it.”
Notification to return to the UK to quarantine
Dr. Williams said: Some countries or regions require 14 days of quarantine. Overseas travel advice, including the latest information on quarantine requirements for return home, can be found on the FCO website.
“Everyone with a suspicious symptom of COVID-19 infection-a high temperature, a new persistent cough, or a loss of smell or taste (anosmia)-needs to be self-isolated and undergo emergency testing.
“Confirmed cases should be quarantined for 10 days, and family members should be quarantined for 14 days until there is no risk of further infection. Together, these simple and effective actions help spread the virus. You can prevent it.”
