2-year-old boy "spat and racially abused" in Nottingham

A two-year-old boy has been repeatedly spat, threatened and subjected to racial violence, said his mother.
Sunday afternoon, Yasmin Johal was strolling on Mansfield Road, in Nottingham, with his son Remy and boyfriend Danny, when a man followed the young family.
The 23-year-old said the man had spit on her son "several times", had racially assaulted him and threatened to "blow his head on the sidewalk".
A tweet about the abuse went viral and the police are investigating.
Ms Johal told the BBC that the man followed him as she pushed her son into a stroller.
She said he then spat on the stroller several times and used a racial slur on his son.

Her boyfriend then turned around and asked the man what the problem was, and he replied, "Your child is my problem."
She said, "He said very clearly in the first few things that he said that his problem was with Remy, which was really scary.
"If it was just aimed at me, I wouldn't be really agitated, but it was a huge shock."

The vlogger's tweet about what happened drew a number of messages of support.
Coventry's mother – whose family is of Indian descent – moved to the Sherwood area of Nottingham six months ago with her young family.
She said that someone else had yelled at her about racial abuse while shopping two months ago.
In light of the latest incident, she said she wanted to get away.
"It is amazing to see all the supportive messages from people online, but it is online," she said. "We no longer feel safe here."
Nottinghamshire police have said they are investigating a public offense aggravated by race.
The force described the suspect as white, bald, wearing a khaki baseball cap, a green and brown jacket, blue jeans and a black backpack.
