President of Iran: US feet will be cut off from the region – BBC News

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has warned US forces to withdraw from the Middle East after Qasem Soleimani’s death.

“You have cut Soleimani’s hand from your body, your feet will cut your region,” the Iranian media quoted a cabinet meeting as saying.

It was led by two Iraqi bases comprising US and coalition troops, one in Al Assad and the other in Irbil at 2:00 pm on Wednesday (10.30pm GMT). It came just hours after the Soleimani burial, which controlled Iran’s proxy forces in the Middle East.

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei has said that the attack has been a “face-to-face” attack on the US and has called for the US to declare its presence in the region.

Noting them, President Hassan Rouhani said the US is having its “feet cut off” in the Middle East.
