Coronavirus Explained: Lucy Hockings knows what Covid-19 is, how it spreads and answers your questions at home, at work and when traveling.
Coronavirus is a respiratory disease, which seems to have a fever, followed by a dry cough. After a week, the breath shortens and some patients require hospital treatment.
These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the disease. They are similar to much more common viruses, such as colds and flu.

In more severe cases, coronaviruses can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, multiple organ failure, and even death.
Older people and some earlier medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, heart disease) are more serious patients.
The incubation period, between infection and onset of symptoms, lasts 14 days, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). But some researchers say it can be up to 24 days.
