New robotic sensors will now be able to capture changes after an earthquake and notify owners if something is wrong.

Sherif Bachiroun, program leader and senior lecturer at AUT, says every structure vibrates.

The sensors are being developed as part of EQC-funded research and are being piloted in an important part of infrastructure in Auckland.

“Buildings shake all the time, in Wellington in particular, just by the wind.
