Ipswich CVS apologizes after people get a small amount of COVID-19 vaccine – Boston news, weather, sports
Ipswich, Massachusetts. (WHDH)-Ipswich’s CVS has contacted patients who received the COVID-19 vaccine at the location and informed them that there was a dose error.
According to CVS, a limited number of patients who received the Modana vaccine at a location on Central Street on Monday were inadvertently given a small dose.
According to the pharmacy, the patient was vaccinated with 0.3 ml of Moderna vaccine instead of the correct 0.5 ml dose.
Karol Kennedy Harley is one of the people vaccinated against CVS and currently doesn’t believe what happened.
“That is, I think the basic word is trust. That’s what it really means. Who do you trust from the beginning of this whole pandemic?” She asked.
Despite the turmoil, Tufts doctors said patients like Carol had no reason to get additional doses and could get a second shot as planned.
“There are several things we can do to minimize or reduce the risk of errors, but because we are humans, errors can occur, especially when trying to get two different vaccines. “I know there is,” said Dr. Gabriella Anduja Basquez of Tufts Medical Center.
In part of the statement released by CVS, it says: “We contacted all affected patients, apologized for the incident and answered questions. We reported to the appropriate regulator.”
Carol said she had not received an apology.
“No, they just provided me with information and it was really casual,” she said.
CVS states that it has implemented the changes to ensure avoidance of future accidents.
