Despite the change in NH, the end date of the main mask rule has not been set
Biddeford, Maine (AP) —The only state bordering Maine has changed mask wearing rules, but Maine’s rules remain the same.
Republican Governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu, said the state’s mask mandate will expire on Friday, but businesses can still request masks. However, Dr. Nirab Shah, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Maine, and Jeanne Lambreux, a member of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, said there were no such plans in Maine.
Maine mask obligations require people to wear masks while in public.

CDC Director Speech
Shah will give a graduation speech at the state’s largest private university.
The main CDC director will speak with graduates of the University of New England during the opening exercises on May 15th and 16th at the University of New England. The university said Thursday Shah would speak via video at each of the university’s six individual university graduation ceremonies.
Shah is the public face of Maine’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, and his regular briefings have won him online fan support. One such fan group, “Fans of Dr. Nirav Shah,” boasts more than 38,000 members on Facebook.
Shah became the director of the Main CDC in June 2019. “In honor of this, Shah is deeply grateful to the entire University of New England community.”
The university plans to award more than 1,800 degrees this year. It is the only medical school home in Maine.
