Bollywood in 2021: from 83, RRR to Sooryavanshi

2020 has been a lackluster year where we talk about a lot, especially the number of films that have made their way to theaters. While this year has not been rich in releases, 2021 tells an entirely different story.

From some of the most anticipated films of 2020 releasing next year to a few titles that have piqued our interest because of their cast or script, it looks like we’re going to be spending almost every Friday in a movie theater.

From titles like 83 and time at Laal Singh Chadda and Sooryavanshi, here’s a look at a few big-budget movies that we’re sure will win a lot for their creators at the box office.

83

This director from Kabir Khan stars an ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Boman Irani and more. Based on India’s first Cricket World Cup win in 1983 it is sure to create a box office explosion as Indians love nothing better than cricket and Bollywood and it is a combination of of them.

One of the main reasons this Salman Khan, Disha Patani, and Randeep Hooda star will do box office wonders is that we haven’t seen bhai on the big screen in a long, long time. Directed by Prabhudeva, the film was one of the most anticipated films of 2020 and now 2021.

KGF 2

Starring Yash, Sanjay Dutt and an array of other talents, this director of Prashanth Neel is sure to release an even bigger hit than his debut opus. Just see the buzz around the film! Also, who isn’t thrilled to see Rocky Bhai again?

RRR

A director of S. S Rajamouli, the cast of movie stars is enough to be one of the many reasons people will come to the movies. With NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and more, give me a reason you wouldn’t want to go to a movie theater to see it unfold?

Laal Singh Chaddha

Lets give you a reason why you should head to theaters to see this movie. One – this is the official adaptation of Tom Hanks Forrest Gump. Two – we will see Aamir Khan on the big screen for the first time since 2018 Thugs of Hindostan. Do you need more motivation? I do not think so

Kabhi Eid, Kabhi Diwali

Another Salman Khan who is sure to ring the cash register is this director of Sajid Samjis. While not much is known about the film, there’s no doubt about the moolah it will generate at the box office.

Gangubai Kathiawadi

This film, starring Alia Bhatt in the lead role, is the story of a young girl sold into prostitution and her journey to become a brothel madam in Kamathipura. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is certainly one of the most anticipated films of 2021, and we bet it will be housefull!

Foreign

A casting cooperative that will not fail to make you anticipate the staging of Aanand L Rai. Starring Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, and Sara Ali Khan, the film recently wrapped up filming, and we’re awaiting an official release date.

Jersey

Another cricket movie that is sure to hit the cash registers is Gowtham Tinnauris Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor. It is a remake of the 2019 Telugu movie of the same name starring Nani.

Sooryavanshi

Who doesn’t wait to see Akshay Kumar set the screen on fire as an officer? The next film in Rohit Shettys’ Bollywood cop universe, the film also stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn. This action movie is best viewed in theaters, and we know a lot will.

While we know these big-name, big-budget movies are sure to create box office wonders, there are a few titles that are sure to be surprise hits. From Girl On The Train to Dhamaka and Sardar Udham Singh, here’s a list of 10 movies that may turn out to be hidden gems.

Bhoot Police

Starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Jaaved Jaaferi, this casting shot is enough to get people heading to theaters to watch Pavan Kirpalani’s production. It has the potential to create wonders at the box offices.

Bhoot Phone

Directed by Gurmeet Singh, this Bollywood film stars Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. The film has started its filming schedule, and we believe it will do some magic in theaters when it releases.

Antim

With Salman Khan in an extended cameo, this Mahesh Manjrekar director stars Aayush Sharma in a gangster avatar. All Bhai fans are sure to come to theaters to see him rip his shirt off, and the recent photo shared keeps us waiting to see her.

Dhamaka

Directed by Ram Madhvani, this Kartik star Aaryan certainly has the potential to work wonders at the Bollywoood box office. The first look poster will even interest you.

Sardar Udham Singh

After watching him create wonders as an Army Officer in URI, we’re excited to see Vicky Kaushal as revolutionary freedom fighter Udham Singh in this director from Shoojit Sircar. This actor-director duo is sure to get more than they’ve invested in our opinion.

Kaagaz

Directed by Satish Kaushik, this Bollywood film stars talent houses like Pankaj Tripathi. Seeing Tripathi’s awesome graphics and knowing how Kaushik is behind the camera, we’re betting this film will receive more than it expects.

Shabaash Mithu

A film based on the life of Indian Women’s Cricket Team Captain Mithali Raj, we’re sure this Taapsee Pannu actor will perform as well as other Bollywood cricket movies. Rahul Dholakia directs it.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui

Starring Ayushmann Khurana, this director of Abhishek Kapoor was shot recently, and from the few clips the actor shared on social media, we know this Bollywood movie will be fine.

Big bull

With Abhishek Bachchan in the lead, this Kookie Gulati has been in the works for quite some time now, and the hype surrounding it isn’t diminishing at all. We think it can work magic with the audience.

Girl in train

An adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ novel of the same name features Parineeti Chopra as a divorced alcoholic who is involved in a missing persons investigation on a train. It sounds interesting.
