Who Owns This Wedding Dress? Help Us Find the Iowa Owner
A woman found a wedding dress on the side of the road just north of Rippey. Now she’s trying to reunite the dress with the bride. Denise Gannon said she and her husband were driving on Highway 144 on June 12 when they noticed an object in a ditch. “We had to go pick up some parts one day in Perry … and there it was on the side of the road,” Gannon said. “All this fluff was blowing in the wind.” The dress is an Alfredo Angelo, and it’s a size 18W. For the past month, she’s been trying to find the owner of the “really pretty dress.” “I really thought if I put it on Facebook, someone would notice it and want it,” she said. “But nothing.” The dress was found next to a Bliss wedding dress bag. Gannon called the Mason City boutique, but she said the store told her they didn’t carry the brand. So the shop doesn't believe it sold the dress. Gannon said everyone has their own theories about how the dress ended up in a ditch. She said some people think the bride changed her mind, or that it had something to do with the Greenfield tornado. Gannon doesn't think either scenario is plausible. “I just don't know if someone was transporting or moving the dress and it got swept away by their vehicle,” she said. Gannon said if she doesn't find the owner in the next two weeks, she'll donate it. But she thinks whoever owns the dress would love nothing more than to have it back. “I hope someone finds it and says, 'Hey, that's my dress!'” she said.

Gannon said if she can't find the owner in the next few weeks, she will donate it. But she believes the person who owns the dress would like nothing more than to have it back.
“I hope someone finds it and says, ‘Hey, that’s my dress!’” she said.
