Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates meets Narendra Modi in Delhi
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday.
Gates said he spoke on artificial intelligence, women-led development, innovation in agriculture, health and climate adaptation and passing on lessons from India to the world, among others, with the Prime Minister.
“It's always inspiring to meet @narendramodi and there was a lot to discuss,” Gates said in a post on X.
He added: “We talked about AI for public good, IPP, women-led development, innovation in agriculture, health and adaptation to climate, and how we can learn lessons from India for the rest of the world. »
The prime minister called the meeting “wonderful” and said in a message on X: “It's always a pleasure to discuss sectors that will make our planet better and empower millions of people around the world.”
Earlier on Thursday, Gates also met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
Gates arrived in Odisha on Tuesday evening and met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday. He also visited a slum in Bhubaneswar along with state government officials and inquired about the welfare of its residents. The philanthropist also interacted with members of women's self-help groups (SHGs) in the state.
Gates also reportedly attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding events in Jamanagar in Gujarat.
