President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the third NasDem congress, raised the issue of being “left behind by the crowd.” What does Jokowi's statement mean? He also provided an explanation.
At the opening of the III NasDem Congress at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, last Sunday (25/8/2024), Jokowi delivered a speech. In his speech, Jokowi talked about being “left behind by the crowd.”
“Usually they come in crowds, the last time they want to leave, they are left behind by a crowd, but I am sure that is not the case with Mr Surya Paloh, nor Bang Surya, nor even NasDem,” said Jokowi in his speech.

Jokowi admitted that he was pleased with NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh and NasDem who support sustainability. He said Paloh was committed to supporting the upcoming government of Prabowo Subianto.
“I was pleased to hear what was conveyed by Mr Surya Paloh and the NasDem party that they would fully support the future government under the leadership of Mr Prabowo Subianto,” he said.
Jokowi added that he also appreciated Surya Paloh's great soul. He said Paloh did not appoint Prabowo, but then gave his full support to the next government.
“I really appreciate the great soul of Mr. Surya Paloh, the great soul of the NasDem party, who, although he is not a candidate, fully supports and fully supervises the sustainability of development policies and the sustainability of the government,” he said.
