Jakarta, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo has spoken out about rumors circulating about his potential to become a manager Golkar Festival After Bahlil Lahadalia appointed as general chairman of the Golkar Party replacing Airlangga Hartarto.
Jokowi Responding to these rumours, he said he might become the general chairman of Golkar or chairman of the party's advisory council bearing the banyan tree symbol.
“He said (the problem) was being president? He said he was a board member? Ah…”, Jokowi said after inaugurating the maternal and child respiratory health service building at Persahabatan Hospital (RS), East Jakarta, Friday (30/8/2024).

Jokowi also answered a similar question regarding the possibility of him becoming chairman of the Golkar Advisory Council after the 11th National Conference (Munas) of the Golkar Party at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (21/8/2024).
Jokowi asked the media team to ask this question directly to Golkar Chairman General Bahlil Lahadalia, not to him.
“Ask the chairman of Golkar, don’t ask me,” Jokowi said at the JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday night (21/8/2024).
Asked why Golkar wore the distinctive yellow shirt during the 11th National Conference, Jokowi explained that it was only to respect the hosts.
“I am here. And again, I want to respect those who have a desire, the Golkar Party, there is no problem,” he added.

Meanwhile, Golkar Party (Ketum) Chairman General Bahlil Lahadalia stressed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will not become chairman of the Golkar advisory board.
Bahlil conveyed this to refute the rumor that Jokowi would be elected chairman of the advisory council after Bahlil officially became chairman of Golkar.
“So there was nothing until President Jokowi wanted to be chairman of the advisory council, until today there was none. I discussed it, there was none, so it is not true, this thought,” Bahlil said at a press conference at the JCC, Jakarta, Wednesday (21/8/2024).
