Bangladesh chief advisor Muhammad Yunus meets Chinese President Xi Jinping
China is the fourth lender of Bangladesh after Japan, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, total loans paid since 1975 reach 7.5 billion USD, according to a report Daily star Bangladesh newspaper.

Yunus also met the former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, who is president of the Boao forum, and asked for support and advice for a smooth transition to democracy in Bangladesh.
“We want to start again; we need your support and your advice. We have an excellent opportunity now,” said Yunus quoted by the Daily.
A day before the talks planned between XI and Yunus, China has reported its desire to expand links with Dhaka in a modified scenario of Bangladesh, reported the BSS news agency managed by the State.
“President Xi Jinping attaches an enormous importance to your visit (from Yunus),” said Chinese Vice-President of BSS, Ding Xuexiang, saying to Yunus, hoping for the prosperity of the South Asian nation under his interim administration.
Ding said Beijing would provide total support to the Bangladesh government in terms of investment, commerce and cultural ties, and people with the exchanges of people while they mark 50 years since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic links.
According to BSS, Yunus told Chinese vice-president of firm support and Bangladesh's commitment to Chinese policy, adding that Dacca is proud to be the South Asian First Nation to join the initiative of the belt and the road to China.
The vice-president noted that China had signed a protocol last year to import the mango of Bangladesh, which should export seasonal fruits in next summer.
Ding said Beijing would also import the Jacquier and the Goyave and the Bangladesh aquatic products as part of his desire to reduce a huge commercial imbalance.
The Chinese government and its universities would grant more scholarships to Bangladais students, Ding said.
Several thousand Bangladais students are already studying in Chinese universities.
The vice-president also provided Chinese funding for the purchase of four ocean ships for Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
Ding also said that Beijing would promote a dialogue between Bangladesh and Myanmar in order to resolve the Rohingyas crisis.
Yunus thanked the Chinese management for his support, saying that the meeting with Xi Jinping was to mark another important step in the partnership constantly opposed to Bangladesh-Chine.
China is currently the largest trading partner and defense of Bangladesh, while analysts claim that Yunus's visit can prove crucial given the evolutionary political situation in the region and beyond.
Chinese ambassador to Dacca, Yao Wen, said earlier that the chief advisor should be successful and productive, with some planned announcements.
