Starting next month, Jokowi launches Blusukan from NTT

RM.id Free people – Next month, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi, will return for a visit. Starting from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), it will then be extended to other regions in Indonesia.

Jokowi’s blusukan program was revealed by Projo Secretary General Freddy Alex Damanik. He revealed that as his health began to recover, Jokowi was ready to return to the field.

“The leak is that Pak Jokowi will go to NTT to visit the seaweed farm and greet the people of NTT,” Freddy said on Monday (18/5/2026).

Nevertheless, Freddy stressed that the agenda is always dynamic and can change at any time. He also said Jokowi’s decision to return to Blusukan was made to maintain an emotional connection with the community even though he was no longer president.

Apart from this, Jokowi would also like to maintain communication with volunteers, regional chiefs, community leaders and grassroots groups so that his political influence remains relevant.

“For this reason, Pak Jokowi must maintain the loyalty of volunteers,” he said.

When asked if traveling through Indonesia was the first step towards the 2029 elections, Freddy responded diplomatically. According to him, the involvement of former presidents in the public space is normal in democratic countries. Furthermore, continued Freddy, Jokowi came to NTT because he received an invitation to witness the development of community-built algae products.

“In a democracy, national figures are always allowed to interact with the public. All former presidents of the world remain equally active in speaking, providing inspiration, participating in forums or going out in the community. As long as they do not violate them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) DPP spokesperson Faldo Maldini claimed that Jokowi’s visit was in his party’s interest. By going out into the field and meeting with the community, Jokowi will raise awareness of PSI.

Faldo explained that this was in line with Jokowi’s message when participating in the PSI national working meeting to go to villages to win the party. “The fact that Pak Jokowi enters the field is the embodiment of this call and our entire structure is looking forward to it,” Faldo told Free people.

Faldo assured that all PSI executives were ready to welcome Jokowi’s presence on the ground. According to him, Jokowi’s enthusiasm for work will give additional energy to PSI executives.

On the other hand, Adi saw the impression of competition between Projo and PSI to show which group was closer to Jokowi. According to him, the PSI believes that Projo cannot represent Jokowi. Despite the various controversies, Adi admits that Jokowi’s popularity is still quite strong in society. However, according to him, the question of his political influence and electoral magnetism remains to be proven over time.

Adi added that so far there is no truly effective measurement tool to detect the influence Jokowi will have after leaving the presidency. However, Adi believes that the former president’s blusukan program does not automatically affect the national political map.

“This type of blusukan is a normal affair. The political map has nothing to do with blusukan, but concerns similar chemistry,” he stressed.
