Reasons why Pangandaran deputy regent joined PSI after Sowan went to Solo, praises Jokowi’s charisma and political background
Hopesrakyat.com, – The political dynamics in Pangandaran Regency have suddenly heated up. The active deputy regent of Pangandaran, H Ino Darsono, officially declared his political position of joining the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). PSI is a party that is now synonymous with the figure of the former two-term President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
This big decision was made after Ino Darsono had an intensive discussion at Joko Widodo’s residence in Solo on Tuesday (26/5/2026). During the one-on-one meeting which lasted about half an hour, former President Jokowi was also present. Apart from that, Chairman of DPW PSI West Java Abang Ijo Hapidin, Chairman of DPD PSI Pangandaran Regency Yayan Sugiantoro and H Sodri, big businessman and Chairman of the Madurese Indonesian Community Association, were also present.

“It’s true. From today, Tuesday (26/5/2026), I declared my position to join the PSI party. I made this decision consciously and without any coercion from any party,” said H Ino Darsono, Tuesday (26/5/2026).
Good reasons why the deputy regent of Pangandaran chooses PSI
Asked why she chose PSI, Ino revealed that she was very obsessed with Joko Widodo’s background and political charisma. For him, the advice of parents to always learn from people who have proven themselves is the main compass. It is a guide in his political approaches this time.
Ino considers Joko Widodo the most successful politician in the country today, who started his career from the bottom. From serving as Mayor of Surakarta, Governor of DKI Jakarta, to successfully winning the presidential election for two consecutive periods.
“I want to learn directly from Mr. Jokowi. When I listened to the discussion, especially regarding his statement in a speech in Makassar that he would do everything possible, I could read his gestures and his seriousness. I really believe in it, and that is what prompted me to join the PSI,” he said.
Regarding PSI’s future strategic steps, especially in the Pangandaran Regency region, Ino explained that currently the party is focused on building a broad and strong political machine. The main objective is to form a solid, loyal and proven management structure. This structure starts from the central level all the way down to the village level (branches) throughout Indonesia.

“Normally the goal is to build a trained and expert structure. Regarding other specific strategies, of course there are things that are intended for internal consumption and that we cannot convey to the public at the moment,” he added.
For your information, H Ino Darsono is not new to the formal political scene. He reportedly joined the National Mandate Party (PAN) in 2011, before finally deciding to resign in 2018.
