The Board of Control for Cricket in India has not officially announced any plans for a closing ceremony for the final. The board had also avoided a grand opening ceremony at the start of the season.
However, an X user shared a video showing a large group of dancers rehearsing for what is being described as the closing ceremony. The same user also claimed that singer Kailash Kher is expected to perform at the event. These details have not been confirmed by the BCCI.
Earlier, IPL president Arun Dhumal had indicated a more restrained approach to the celebrations after the 2025 Bengaluru stampede incident that led to the death of 11 people during RCB’s victory celebrations. The season opened in Bangalore with a tribute to the victims.
While official confirmation remains pending, the IPL is expected to feature a mid-innings entertainment segment during the final, similar to the arrangements seen during Qualifiers 1 in Dharamshala, which included a violin performance, light and laser show and fireworks.
Preparing the Narendra Modi Stadium for the IPL 2026 final
Preparations are underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to host the much-hyped final between RCB and GT. Arrangements are also made for mid-inning entertainment during the match.
During Qualifiers 1, fans saw a mix of live performance elements, including a violin act, laser show and fireworks, which could be replicated for the final.
