Trump says to ‘cancel’ Freedom 250 concert series

After posting a message Saturday morning against “third-rate artists” who abandoned Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 concert series, the president shares his updated thoughts on the event, openly saying, “cancel it.”

Trump published a second article on Truth Social about the Freedom 250 event that saw a plethora of musical artists drop out of his lineup Saturday night. There, he suggested holding a Make America Great Again rally instead, before also sharing his additional thoughts on U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper’s ruling Friday that his name should be removed from the Kennedy Center building.

“We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for $250, instead of having overpriced singers that no one wants to hear, whose music is boring and yet all they do is complain,” he wrote. “Cancel it, just like I canceled my involvement in the failure and insecurity of being at the Kennedy Center, because a very conflicted and crooked federal judge said I should not be allowed to spend my time and money to MAKE THE CENTER GREAT AGAIN, in fact, much bigger than it ever was before! Earlier Saturday, Trump criticized musical groups who left the Freedom 250 concert series and suggested he might invite “the man who draws a much larger audience than Elvis,” referring to himself, to take their place with a speech instead of a musical performance.

On Friday, Bret Michaels and The Commodores joined a group of musical talents who announced they had left the concert series.
