Trump says China’s Xi marveled at how US became world’s ‘hottest country’
Chinese leader Xi Jinping expressed deep respect for the work President Trump has done during his second term, the commander in chief told “Pod Force One” in the latest episode airing Wednesday.
“Today you have the hottest country in the world, the most prosperous country in the world,” the president boasted in an interview with the Post’s Miranda Devine.
“Everyone, even President Xi, I was with him in China – he looks up to us,” Trump said of his visit to Beijing last month.
Trump publicly praised Xi throughout his historic three-day visit to China last month, and the Chinese leader was apparently just as effusive in his private meetings with the 47th president.

“We had a great visit,” Trump said of the summit. “But Xi has great respect for what I did. He said, ‘You did it so quickly. I’ve never seen anything like this.'”

The president’s comments echo an article he published on Truth Social at the start of the trip, in which he claimed that Xi viewed the United States as a “nation in decline” under former President Joe Biden.
“Two years ago, we were actually a nation in decline. On this point, I completely agree with President Xi! But now, the United States is the most dynamic nation in the world, and I hope that our relationship with China will be stronger and better than ever!” Trump wrote last month.
When asked by The Post’s Devine what legacy he wanted to leave, Trump responded: “I took our country and made it great again.” »
